Working arrangement detail
Onsite, 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements, including remote work, may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to business and operational requirements. A Reduced Activity Period may apply during public holidays and the Christmas shutdown period (from 12:30 pm on the last working day before Christmas Day until the first working day following 1 January), unless prior written approval is provided by the Buyer.

The department is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to meet emerging needs of the department and business areas.
Key duties and responsibilities
As a Scrum Master, you will be required to:
Run the day-to-day work of a scrum team including leading agile ceremonies to deliver business outcomes as agreed.
Lead Program Increment and Sprint Planning, including defining targets.
Work with managers and team members to improve the efficiency of the delivery team.
Work to identify, document, and manage Risks and Issues that may impede your team’s progress.
Work closely with the Product Owner and Business Analysts to enable the product backlog and manage the sprint backlog.
Work closely with team members and other agile practitioners to improve agile practices within your team and across the division.
Report on the progress on the team using typical agile metrics.
Coach and mentor team members and business participants about agile approaches and ceremonies.
Embed day-to-day Agile delivery and governance, leading a team, improving Agile maturity, transferring knowledge, and mentoring existing staff.
Set the tone for success, including team cadence, events and common priorities to optimise value.
Support the team so that all products are built to an appropriate level of quality.
Requirements
Criteria

Essential criteria
Demonstrated experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment guiding a delivery team to deliver quality software with a focus on scope, quality, time, and cost.
Demonstrated experience managing issues that block team progress while delivering and reporting on iterative improvements in estimation, velocity and quality.
Demonstrated knowledge and delivery experience working in a SAFe framework.
Effective communication skills in writing, in person and via video conferencing including facilitation skills to build and sustain effective collaboration and a cohesive and positive delivery team culture.
Desirable criteria
Understanding the business context and/or IT systems used by the Department of Education or Department of Employment and Workplace Relations environment.
Experience with Azure DevOps
