The AEC is looking to engage an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join a multi-disciplinary delivery team supporting Indigo, the election systems modernisation program. You will support and actively contribute to the development of the ServiceNow platform. This role includes the design and implementation of both custom and out-of-the-box solutions on the ServiceNow platform to meet business needs.


Key duties and responsibilities

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Performing coding (JavaScript) and configuration (Flow Designer, UI Builder, Business Rules) on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, user researchers and service designers to understand business requirements and translate them into final working solutions.
  • Enhance existing ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Work in accordance with agile principles and practices including participation in agile ceremonies.
  • Document all technical designs, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to develop best practices for ServiceNow development.
  • Stay on top of new ServiceNow features and functionalities and incorporate them into the development process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform by providing recommendations for process and system enhancements.

Essential criteria

Page 2 – A one-page pitch addressing the selection criteria. This should not exceed one page. Pages 3 – 5 – A resume of no more than three pages. We will strictly adhere to the above requirements. Submissions will be deemed non-compliant if they do not meet the listed criteria, if they exceed the 5-page limit or if the rates of submitted candidates

  • • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and integrations using best practices and standards. • Experience with Service Portal development including widget customisation, HTML, CSS and Angular JS. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise in ServiceNow that meet business requirements. • Proficiency in agile tooling to manage user stories e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow agile module. • Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate clearly between business areas and technical teams.

Desirable criteria

  • • Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Information Management, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline. • Industry recognised ServiceNow certification, such as ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and any other ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialists e.g. (CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM). • Flexible skillset and a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies with an enterprise focus.
